Ingredients
At Nommadd Soap, we take pride in using only the finest, natural ingredients for our soaps and bath bombs. Our commitment to quality ensures that every product is crafted with care, without the unnecessary extras.
In soapmaking, we typically superfat to around 5%, which means that 5% of the oils and butters remain unsaponified (unreacted) in the final bar. This is done deliberately by using a calculator to determine the amount of sodium hydroxide (lye) needed to saponify 95% of the oils. The remaining 5% is left as excess oils, which ensures the soap is more moisturizing and gentler on the skin.
Superfatting helps create a richer, more luxurious bar with extra skin-loving oils that don’t get turned into soap. This process ensures that the bar doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils, making it ideal for sensitive or dry skin types. It also adds a creamy, nourishing feel to the soap.
